Founded in 1975, we celebrated our 30th Anniversary in 2005 and are looking forward to many more years of serving you. 

 

Independently operated by the same owner since its founding, Roadside Lumber & Hardware is one of the oldest businesses in Agoura Hills along with the Agoura Hills Post Office.  

 

Roadside began with just a few employees, supplying the landscape contractor primarily with railroad ties, redwood, plant material and nursery supplies. Over the next decade, Roadside added employees and developed a full line of lumber and hardware inventory to serve residential building contractors with professional quality stock and special order building materials not usually available in the “big box” stores..  In 1986 Roadside Lumber became an affiliate of the Ace Hardware Corporation, ("the place with the helpful hardware folks"). 

 

As contractor business continued to grow, Roadside added a lumber storage and reload center in Camarillo.  That center constantly receives rail car loads of lumber and related materials to serve our customers (Roadside has its own railroad spur).  Camarillo also houses our custom milling center and our delivery fleet (we deliver from Santa Barbara County to the north and San Bernardino to the south, the Pacific Ocean to the West and Palmdale to the east, although our largest customer base is in north Los Angeles County and all of Ventura County). 

 

Today, thanks to the generous support of our customers, our staff has grown to nearly 100 employees and continues to serve professional contractors, owner-builders and the general public.
